The INDUCON welding process sets benchmarks in sleeve welding technology for district heating pipes.
It was specifically developed to meet the requirements for connecting plastic-cased pipe systems under demanding conditions. The system solution guarantees long-lasting, high-strength and reproducible pipe connections.
INDUCON is an automated PE sleeve welding system for plastic-cased pipes in district heating networks. The system is based on the inductive heating of an integrated metal welding strip. This precisely melts and connects the sealing zone between the PE heat-shrink sleeve and the plastic casing pipe.
The result:
✔ uninterrupted weld seams
✔ circumferential and homogeneous weld seams
✔ permanently leak-tight pipe connections
The contactless welding process runs automatically and ensures consistent quality – regardless of the operator.
INDUCON combines technical precision, advanced technology and user-friendly processes to elevate sleeve welding to a new level. In contrast to conventional electrofusion sleeves, INDUCON operates without heating coils or cable feed-throughs for heating the welding strip. Cable feed-throughs have the disadvantage that moisture can enter the system through capillary action or oxidation of the electric wires. This eliminates typical sources of error such as short circuits, displaced wires or moisture-related process disruptions.
Precision
The inductive heating of the metal welding strip ensures a uniform, circumferential fusion of the sleeve and casing pipe.
Operational Safety
No leakage risks due to unnecessary cable feed-throughs. No risk of short circuits with our induction system. No clamp fastening of heating coils that could damage the plastic casing.
Process Stability
The intelligent control system optimises the welding process and ensures reproducible, high-quality results. The automated procedure reliably eliminates manual sources of error.
We don’t just supply district heating pipes – we ensure the long-term operational safety of your district heating network.
With INDUCON, you not only receive state-of-the-art induction welding technology for sleeve connections, but also full service from our specially trained and certified BRUGG Pipes installers. They perform each sleeve weld carefully and professionally, and test every sleeve for leaks using pressure testing. The INDUCON system automatically records all data for clear welding protocols. For a fully inspected and permanently reliable district heating pipe system.
All installers are trained and certified according to AGFW FW 603 (DE) for the professional installation of PE heat-shrink sleeves.
The automated INDUCON welding process plus installer expertise minimises leakage risks, installation errors and downtime.
Your Safety:
All sleeve connections are permanently leak-tight, reproducible and fully documented – for maximum operational safety, reduced costs and optimal predictability of your district heating network.
Conventional electrofusion sleeves require cable feed-throughs for electric wires, which represent potential weak points for moisture ingress. INDUCON closes the district heating pipe connection contactlessly and without interruption.
Conventional sleeve systems (double-sealed) use a hot-melt adhesive. This is subject to the aging process and becomes brittle. It also softens as temperatures increase and loses the necessary strength. Both can lead to leaks. A PE fusion connection with INDUCON maintains its high strength and lasts a lifetime.
With our INDUCON service, every installed sleeve is subjected to a pressure test immediately after welding. This tightness verification is recorded directly on-site, providing network operators with maximum acceptance security. A welding protocol can be requested if desired.
Yes, the process is fully tested and certified according to EN 489-1:2019. It meets all requirements for resistance to ground loads, temperature fluctuations, and mechanical stresses, as applied to modern rigid district heating pipes (KMR).
With INDUCON, you choose a leak-proof connection for your rigid district heating pipes.
The test certificate according to EN 489-1 confirms that connections made with INDUCON:
✅ Are absolutely watertight
✅ Can withstand the forces in a district heating network due to their high strength
✅ Can withstand radial and bending forces
✅ Remain reliable even at high temperatures
By combining patented technology with exclusive execution by our specialist personnel, you minimise the risk of costly rework on your district heating pipe connections and secure the economic efficiency of your district heating networks.
