In the Port of Gothenburg, Stena Oil optimised the storage of oil products using an innovative NIROFLEX heating system from BRUGG Pipes. This solution enables efficient heating while simultaneously minimising cleaning efforts and reducing operating costs.
For a 10,000 cubic metre bunker tank, BRUGG Scandinavia (formerly BRUGG Sweden) implemented a high-performance heating system based on the NIROFLEX DN 50. In contrast to conventional systems that almost completely cover the tank floor, this technology allows for a largely clear floor area. This significantly reduces cleaning requirements and shortens downtime.
The technical implementation included a detailed planning phase as well as the pre-fabrication of four independent heating circuit modules. Thanks to this high degree of pre-fabrication, the on-site installation was completed in just three weeks. A major advantage for the installation company was the significantly reduced welding requirement due to longer pipe units. As the first installation of its kind in Sweden, BRUGG Pipes is setting new standards for operational efficiency in the maritime sector.
