A conventional pre-insulated steel pipe system was originally planned for a new heating pipe installation for KERKSTOEL in Grobbendonk, Belgium. Together with local partner Carnoy, an alternative solution was assessed to simplify installation and reduce construction time.
Flexible pipe system instead of conventional steel pipes
The flexible ARMOPEX pipe system from BRUGG Pipes was selected. ARMOPEX UNO APX 125/182 in dimension DN 100, with a pressure rating of 12 bar, was used for the project.
Using the flexible pipe system, the heating pipe could be installed without on-site welding or underground connections. This reduced installation work and potential weak points in the pipe network.
Installation completed in just two days
Carnoy carried out the feasibility assessment and technical planning and supported the customer during installation. As this was the partner's first ARMOPEX project, BRUGG Pipes also provided technical support during implementation.
The pipe was installed in August 2026, with work completed in just two days.
