For a leading European aerospace company, BRUGG Pipes expanded a cryogenic test infrastructure. Flexible, vacuum-insulated pipe systems in long continuous lengths provide a secure piping solution for the transport of cryogenic media.
BRUGG Pipes supplied two flexible, vacuum-insulated cryogenic pipe systems in DN 100 and DN 40, each with a total length of 185 metres. The pipelines connect an elevated storage tank for cryogenic media with a lower engine test facility, ensuring the safe and low-loss transport of cryogenic media under extreme thermal conditions.
An innovative manufacturing process made it possible to produce continuous pipe lengths of up to 95 metres. As a result, only one connection point was required per pipeline. This reduces potential leakage risks and increases long-term operational reliability and system safety.
BRUGG Pipes was responsible for the complete engineering, manufacturing, installation and laying of the pipe systems. The flexible design significantly reduced installation time compared to rigid piping systems. A redundant leak detection system together with comprehensive radiographic testing of all welds at both the factory and the construction site ensured the highest quality and safety standards.
This project demonstrates how BRUGG Pipes successfully delivers demanding high-tech infrastructure projects through flexible cryogenic piping technology, innovative manufacturing methods and comprehensive quality assurance.
