Project
BRUGG Pipes is laying EIGERFLEX LONGLINE UNO 50/111 in Switzerland – 474 meters in one piece.
The above-ground installation of this innovative pipe system provides an efficient and reliable solution that has been specifically tailored to the requirements of the project. The aim was to create a continuous cold water pipe that reliably protects the medium from frost thanks to integrated heating technology.
Implementation
The project involved the above-ground installation of EIGERFLEX LONGLINE over an impressive length of almost 500 meters. The flexible and robust design of the pipe system made it easy to handle and install, even in challenging terrain.
Thanks to its excellent insulating properties and integrated frost protection heating technology, the pipe provides a safe and sustainable solution for the cold water supply at altitudes of up to 1,000 meters.
The work was planned with precision and executed with the utmost care to meet the customer's high quality standards. Despite challenging conditions on site, the installation was completed smoothly and on schedule. The EIGERFLEX solution provides a long-lasting, reliable and economical infrastructure that performs well even under extreme conditions.
Project
Close to Austria's oldest glacier ski area, a wastewater pipeline was to be installed from the mountain station to the middle valley station of the gondola lift on the Kitzsteinhorn and integrated into an existing pipeline from the middle to the valley station. Our high-quality EIGERFLEX LONGLINE pipes were used to provide optimum frost protection for the water.
Realization
Two EIGERFLEX LONGLINE pipes, each 390 m long, from BRUGG Pipes were used at an altitude of up to 3,000 meters. This demanding installation was carried out in close cooperation with our proven distribution partner KE KELIT and its customers.
The challenges that the workers had to face at this altitude were not limited to the technical implementation, but also included the logistical feat of transporting the material and vehicles over narrow mountain roads to the installation site at an altitude of over 3,000 meters. As the trench was not located directly in the glacier area, but in rocky scree, it first had to be cleared by blasting and drilling. The entire project was heavily dependent on weather conditions and it was essential to keep the trench clear of snow to ensure a flawless technical installation. The construction work was carried out in two phases and lasted from June to October 2023.
Proyecto
En la región de Pinzgau, en el estado de Salzburgo, se reabrieron dos pistas deportivas en el Kitzsteinhorn, a 3203 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Para la alimentación de la estación de montaña (2650 m s. n. m.), nuestro sistema de tuberías EIGERFLEX con preaislamiento conecta la estación intermedia situada 200 metros más abajo, en forma de tubería para agua potable y aguas residuales con protección anticongelante.
Reto
Se abrió una zanja con una longitud de 1250 m en terreno rocoso para tender el sistema de tuberías EIGERFLEX. Para no perjudicar el servicio en temporada de esquí, debe garantizarse a toda costa la protección anticongelante en este duro clima. Pudimos satisfacer esta demanda con las bandas calentadoras monofásicas de resistencia fija que empleamos, que permiten longitudes de circuito de calefacción de hasta 1000 m. Para alegría de los responsables del proyecto, los dos sistemas de tuberías pudieron ejecutarse con solo dos alimentaciones de corriente cada uno.
