At BRUGG Pipes USA, we are proud to announce a major milestone in our company’s development: the successful start of production for our high-performance, flexible pipe system CALPEX PUR-KING at our new facility in Joliet, Illinois. This strategic step directly addresses the rapidly growing demand for energy-efficient piping solutions in the United States—for both district and local heating networks as well as underground hot and cold water distribution.
Our new facility in the greater Chicago area marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter—not just for us as a company, but for our customers across North America. CALPEX PUR-KING is a trusted system that has already set new standards across Europe. It delivers exceptional thermal insulation, high energy efficiency, and easy, time-saving installation—making it an ideal choice for modern underground infrastructure.
At BRUGG Pipes USA, Made in the USA is more than just a promise – it’s our practice. Today, approximately 80% of all raw materials used in our production are sourced domestically. This ensures reliable supply chains, fast response times, and shorter transportation routes, which in turn lowers carbon emissions. For our customers, that means: maximum planning reliability, shorter lead times, and a product made in the US, for the US – a decisive advantage in a fast-evolving market.
The setup of our Joliet facility was completed in record time. Just 14 months after announcing our joint venture with Rovanco Piping Systems in April 2024, we completed construction of a new production hall, installed a state-of-the-art manufacturing line, and produced our first market-ready pipe system. This was made possible through the close collaboration of our experienced team from BRUGG Pipes headquarters in Switzerland and our local partners at Rovanco Piping Systems.
A total of approximately $20 million was invested in the new facility. Together with colleagues from Switzerland and our US-based team, we’ve successfully launched full-scale production in a remarkably short time.
