BRUGG Pipes has been commissioned by New Providence Gas Limited to engineer and manufacture two floating LNG transfer lines for the New Providence Gas Project in the Bahamas.
The two 8-inch lines will each be approximately 200 meters long and will be specifically designed for the demanding combination of LNG transfer and dynamic marine operating conditions. The project therefore combines two key requirements in a single solution: the safe transport of a cryogenic medium and reliable operation in a moving marine environment.
Flexible piping systems for cryogenic media are particularly well suited to applications of this kind. They enable project-specific solutions for demanding LNG infrastructure in which temperature, movement, and operational safety must all be taken into account.
The scope of supply includes detailed engineering, manufacturing, and testing of both piping systems, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), as well as the associated project documentation. Delivery will take place from the Wunstorf site in Germany.
The piping systems will form part of the new LNG infrastructure at Clifton Pier on New Providence. The regasification terminal being built there is intended to supply natural gas for electricity generation on the island in the future.
For BRUGG Pipes, the order represents another international application of its many years of experience in flexible piping technology and cryogenic piping systems. The project demonstrates how specialized piping solutions can reliably combine the specific requirements of LNG transfer, cryogenic technology, and marine infrastructure.
